is there a diff in a 63 & 66 frame?
I have a 66 shortstep and i got it down to the frame ive redone all of the frame and suspinsion but the body on mine isnt the best. I found a 63 shortstep that has a way better body on it then mine so i was just wondering if the body on the 63 would fit and line up to my 66 frame. Any help or direction would be great. Thanks

Re: is there a diff in a 63 & 66 frame?
in a similar thread on post #4 it shows diffrent frames 60-62 and then 63-66,looks like a 63 is the same as a 66 frame but i dont know for sure might want to wait till other members who know for sure chime in...i would think that they are the same and might have small slight differences !

I've been told that all 63 to 72's used the same frame. Someone please correct
Me if I'm wrong. I'd like to be educated in telling all 60-66 Chevys apart by the fender emblems? Help? Rick Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: is there a diff in a 63 & 66 frame?
The '67-'72 frames are basically the same as the '63-'66 frames, but with a few differences. They can be modified to work with the '63-'66 bodies if needed.
There is a thread here somewhere that shows how to ID the years. It might be in the FAQ at the top of the page.

Re: is there a diff in a 63 & 66 frame?
66 uses a different e brake system than 63-65, but the frame should still be the same.
