You meant to sat "plaid" not "houndstooth",right? That SPID does look fishy. Musta been redone one of the times the truck was patched up and painted. The seat is worth as much as the rest of the truck,IMO. "Only year with redesigned hood",huh? All righty then

Is it the same seller? My pants are plaid, not herringbone, that's the only reason I know the difference. But,don't tell anybody about my plaid pants, please. I wouldn't want the whole internet to know...ok?

Re: uncle henry's ad (sort like CL) 72 LWB

I would say by the sounds of the email i received, its the same owner, but new place to try to sell it. And it had been somewhere else between when i saw it, and now. I feel bad if its the same owner, he will never find a sucker to pay $3k for it with riveted rockers, and bondo'd floors and cab corners.

What pants? I have no idea what you mean?

You're right. It was a plaid kilt! It's herringbone that the trousers are.

I don't know what parts he needed for his '67,but that's not a truck that's too nice to part out.Usually when you can't sell something you bring the price down, not up. I doubt he paid all that much for it,unless he really messed up. I'd think he could cut the price in half and still get more than he paid for it.

Re: uncle henry's ad (sort like CL) 72 LWB

I got the list, it needs:

Bed, rockers, cab corners, floor patches, fender, rear brakes, brake lines, passenger exhaust manifold, complete suspension rebuild in the front.
But.... The engine is good and compression is excellent.
Ugh. Good luck to him.

Re: uncle henry's ad (sort like CL) 72 LWB

I went up and met with him today, very nice guy, has a 67 that was his dads, it went out 8 years ago to be redone, the guy stripped the 67 an took off, he lost tona in that, and has a torn down truck now, bought the 72 for parts, but doesn't want to tear it down now. It was a sad story really. I hope he gets that 67 back together, it meant a lot to him and his dad.

Re: uncle henry's ad (sort like CL) 72 LWB

He paid $2800. His mechanic told him it would be a good parts truck, got it home and changed his mind, told him it was to good to part. So now he has no parts to finish the 67. He's in a fix that's for sure, he thinks he will dump 3-4k in the 72 mechanical wise, and sell it for 7-8k. I didn't say no, cause stranger things have happened, I offered 6cyl parts and to help him through the reassembly, cause I felt he got taken.

Re: uncle henry's ad (sort like CL) 72 LWB

Sounds like he's found himself a money pit. Better off selling as is and maybe take a loss due to paying too much in the first place. Sometimes you have to cut your losses. You live and learn...sometimes the hard way. I think it's the body issues that are keeping it from selling now,not mechanical. None of that is a big deal. If it was me I'd use it for parts towards the '67 he already lost money on. At least he'll have something to show for his losses.

From the pic and what you say, looks like a $1g-1500 truck and nothing more. I see rust free good LWB going for $3-4gs lol I don't care where the location is, that truck isn't worth $3gs.

Re: uncle henry's ad (sort like CL) 72 LWB

I agree, on both counts, he should use it to put the 67 back together, and it isn't worth what he paid.
