Oil gauge question
Has anyone hooked up an aftermarket manual oil pressure gauge on a 5.3? I bought one and the line kit, but have nothing that fits the block. Thanks!

Re: Oil gauge question
Theres a removable block above the oil filter, Remove it (2 10mm bolts), Drill & tap it for 1/8" NPT.
Whats wrong with the factory gauge? |

Re: Oil gauge question
The factory gauge, being on a 03 Suburban is erratic. And now that is is usually flung way over on the right hand side of gauge, the low oil pressure warning buzzer has now started sounding at times. The dealer said best way to tell what is really happening is to install manual gauge. I did not think to ask him if it would fit. Took sending unit out and found out it would not. Going to get replacement cluster soon, but would like to know what the real oil pressure is. Not really trusting of GM's effort at warning devices currently.

Re: Oil gauge question
Or you could just put a new stepper motor in the cluster to fix the original gauge.
