Its time I make some room for some meat. How did you guys do yours? Hopefully I can sell my 350 this week so I can get my welder.

Look how far your rear shocks are layed over.

LOL.....I've known that for 5 years! I got with a guy from KYB to order that length. They do need to be relocated at some time but never any weight in the back and they ride great! With the lowered springs, there is almost zero travel and yet not a harsh ride at all. I almost didn't post that pic because I knew someone would bust my balls over it. Do you want to see a pic of the duct tape holding my carbs on??

i had my done the same way take old pair and weld them together

Didn't mean to "bust your balls".
Shock relocatore are cheap, and they make the shocks work,... instead of "pivoting" on the mounts.

I'm offended AND hurt......(where did I put my counselors number).

It's one of those things that I just wanted to get it on the road to check for drivetrain issues and there were none. Just started driving it and fast forward 5 years!

Are the shock locators for the bottom? I'm probably just got to fab something up for the top with my mad fab skillz.

First step was the bolts. Took me about 1 1/2 hrs today. Nothing a dremel and a grinder can't fix.

Just remember I posted the pic of the bed I did because you will have to contour one of the raised parts of the bed so the tub will sit flat. Gets a little tricky.

Are you going to reinstall the piece you cut out?
This way you will retain the flat flange and all the bolt holes.
Just cut it out and move it over.
Then weld it back in.

I would make your cut right in the center of an "upper" bed ridge.
This way you can weld and grind much easier.

looks like the piece I cut off had some rust so i'm thinking of not welding it back on.
Prostreet- I worked on the raised parts of the truck bed and yes tricky.
Need to upload some more pics this weekend. Project got expensive (hobart210). Thanks to the wife for getting it for me. Looking forward to having some new wheels and tires.

The day I got my Millermatic 180 autoset......life really began!

One of the first welds I did was the spring perches on my Ford 9" for my Camaro. When I lifted the hood, I thought someone else must have ran that bead!

I plan on cutting down the axle to get my tires to fit in... not sure if I'll have to hack the fenders or not yet. But from talking about it, the plan is to cut the existing tub in half and add a section as a filler.

This is what it looks like. Not a show truck but she will have MEAT!
Quick notes
Measure twice- Its off about 1/2 inch as you can see.
Take your time while welding and use more clamps. You can see how its not staight.
Now I have to drill new holes and get some bolts.
Now I need to find the correct wheel size for it. Any ideas guys?
