2010 Camaro SS manifolds

Does anyone know how the Camaro manifolds fit in a 67-72 chassis?

Re: 2010 Camaro SS manifolds

I've got a set installed in my '72 with ECE mounts. Just did it this week and have a few pics.

They fit great. Plenty of room in every direction even with the heat shields on. The flanges sit between the frame rails and no notching is needed. However, the down pipe after the flange is very close to the lower frame rails... approx 1/4" on each side. If you had setback mounts you'd have a little more room. I cut/bent the down pipe away for a little more room. Also, on the passenger side the down pipe hit the rear brake line where it flips over the rail....

The two bolt flange is nice as compared to the three bolt flanges. The stock down pipe is 2.25", also.

Remember, my experience is with the ECE mounts....

Re: 2010 Camaro SS manifolds

i tried a couple of options yesterday and here are the results...the 2010 fit good and have descent clearence on both sides and i also tried a set of hooker block hugger headers and they fit great with a mile of room on each side...hope this info helps someone...but the only thing i did'nt like about the hookers is the 1 5/8 primaries they come with but they are very nicely made and have some of the thickest flanges ive ever seen on a set of headers and they come with the gaskets, bolts and collectors also...by the way my set-up is ls1 with the f-body oil pan with some homemade 1 inch set back motor adaptor plates....thanks

Re: 2010 Camaro SS manifolds

Thanks for all the responses, guys. I bought the manifolds from a private seller on LS1Tech.com. I only gave $100 shipped for them, so I figured they would still sell easily enough if they don't work. I plan to mount my LS1 in the 6 cyl location with stock perches. These manifols are very close to the TBSS manifolds, which I know usually work with the stock perches. I may have to get a set of tubular mounts from POL if the stock perches interfere.

OldCreek, those pics help alot. Thanks.

Re: 2010 Camaro SS manifolds

Does anyone know what the difference would be on a 77 frame?

Re: 2010 Camaro SS manifolds

From what I've seen, the frames are very similar. The 77 uses a different style motor mount perch, which is very similar to the system ECE sells, so the pics above would be similar to your 77 frame.

Re: 2010 Camaro SS manifolds

I think I'm just going to order some and try them. The truck manifolds I have point towards the cab too much and I need something exiting more downward.

Re: 2010 Camaro SS manifolds

These camaro manifolds exit almost straight down from the rear most exhaust port. They jog outward a little bit at first, then straight down.

Re: 2010 Camaro SS manifolds

Got my manifolds a couple days ago, and finally got around to test fitting. They came with heat shields, but I removed them.

Here's the problem with stock engine towers. the driver's side clears with about 1/4" clearance, but the pass. side rubs the stand.

Re: 2010 Camaro SS manifolds

Gonna cut, grind, and weld those stock towers? I think the early camaro manifolds had the same problem.

Anyways, I've got a stock set of towers from my sbc '72 you can have if you want to try to rework them.

Re: 2010 Camaro SS manifolds

Well, I may grind down the heat shield mounting tabs, and casting marks to smooth them out. Then, I'm thinking of either painting(I have some good VHT stuff that actually stays on) or having them ceramic coated in a cast iron gray color.
