How long have you been working on yours?
Wednesday I have owned my 86 stepside for one year. I thought I would be finished by now but I am not. I put headers and new exhaust on today. It looks like it may be hard to change the oil filter.

Re: How long have you been working on yours?
I've had my 78 for 3 or so years now. besides a couple of odd projects like foglights and an efan, I got it all finished in a 3 month period when I wasnt working and had a bunch of $$ saved up. most of the 3 months was the truck being in body shop jail.

Re: How long have you been working on yours?
Bought my 74 April 98 for a DD, June of 99 I bought another DD (van) and moved the 74 to light duty. In 01 the trans went out, That's when the fun began. I looked at new trucks one day (01) and seen 28k stickers
That evening I looked out my kitchen window at my ole 74 sitting there, Got to thinking 28k sure would make a sweet 74 ! Frame and running gear is all new and completed, My new core support and fender wells sat in paint prison for 8 freak'n months which motivated me to do ALL aspects of this build all by myself. I've been working off-n-on doing cab body work since 02, My issue isn't money but finding time to work on it....

Re: How long have you been working on yours?
Got my 79 in 89. Been working on it ever since. Am redoing it again for the third time. Winters take beating on these things. Each time was frame off. It's getting old now. This will the last time. Parts are too hard and expensive to find.

Re: How long have you been working on yours?
Last registered my current project in 2006! It sat waiting, completely tore it down in 2009, life got in the way, worked on it some, life got in the way, worked on it some, life got in the way, etc...., now it's back in the shop with money being the obstacle now.

Re: How long have you been working on yours?
I've had my '85 since spring of '98. Have had a few years where it didn't need any real work or repairs over time, but it's had a few breaks with some serious down-time as well, for a few larger or more involved repairs. Served some time as a daily driver, but now mostly just a foul-weather driver, or when I need to haul stuff.
