new guy with a new pickup.

hey guys! i just purchased a 1969 GMC 3/4 ton pickup. it has a wooden bed in it, which i guess is kinda rare. the truck is in real good shape, has the usual rust in the cab corners and sills. im going to use it as a daily driver while i restore it. It has a 350 in it, with the automatic. the seat is destroyed, and the door panels are missing. i drove it to work today and i already have 3 guys at work who have parts for me. should be a good truck. i paid the guy a grand for this beauty.

here is a short video i shot, basically just a walk around of the truck.

Nice rig for 1k, I also found mine for 1K. There are lots of these trucks still around here which helps keep the prices down and lots of parts, good luck.

Re: new guy with a new pickup.

so the old truck had an issue headin to work today. she did fine all the way there, and i stopped for lunch and she cooled off. then i fired her up and headed to the shop, about 4 miles away. she stalled out, and when i hit the ignition switch, nothing happened, no engine cranky, nothing. just the brake light came on. then after a few tries, the engine started cranking again and after a few moments fired up. she did this three times. coming home from work she had no problems, for the entire 30 miles commute. thoughts?

Re: new guy with a new pickup.

Check your battery connections, make sure they are tight and clean. If they are ok, sounds like it might be the starter solenoid. Nice truck!!!
