Diagnosing cruise control problems??

Ok, so here's where I'm at. When I bought my '86 the cruise control diaphragm was busted and missing, also the stalk for the turn signal switch broken. So, I found the needed parts in my local junkyard. I basically pulled the ENTIRE cruise system from another '86 incase I needed extra parts. So, I've installed everything, and.... Nothing... The d@mn thing doesn't work!!! anyone have a diagnostic procedure for testing the system? I would like to have cruise control!!! on the brighter side, last weekend the truck got new brake pads, machined rotors, repacked wheel bearings, and I finally hooked up the vacuum ball and my HVAC controls! And all of it works!

Re: Diagnosing cruise control problems??

I gave up fixing my 83 cruise. I added an aftermarket unit from Rostra. Worth every dime. My 83 factory manual has info. I don't think I have the pages scanned into PDF files. I'll check.
