WTB tilt TS switch screw

ok, after two years I'm starting to re-assemble the burb, lost a screw! anyone have a long turn signal switch screw for a '72 tilt column. This could be one of many "I dunno where I put it" or "I think I'm finished...now where does this go"!

thx,
Al.

Re: WTB tilt TS switch screw

You just need the screw that bolts the turn signal lever to the column? I've got a few columns sitting at the house, I can take a look this week and see if they are complete still as I'm unsure of their condition.

i need the bolt that holds down the turn signal assembly, there are two long, half thread - half sleve bolts, and 1 short threaded one. mine is a tilt floor column, not sure if they are different.

thx,

Al.

Al, those three switch plate shoulder screws are tilt specific and like you said, there are two long and one short. Since its the long one that you are after, you can use a regular non-tilt switch screw by cutting off about a 1/4" of the threaded end. The regular non-tilt shoulder screw should be easy enough for you to locate and then compare it to the long "tilt specific" one that you still have, then make the threads the same length from edge of shoulder. Atleast its the long one that you are after, if it had been the short one it would be harder to find a replacement or something to use in its place. Mel

OK, I'll check this weekend when I'm at the yard. Just need to get my '49 apart today first before I go digging in the mud
