Dual Exhaust: Uneven Flow

I have dual exhaust on my 86. 3" pipes all the way back. No Y pipe no cat converter, only headers, mufflers and pipe. I noticed when it was cold that my left pipe shot out more exhaust than the right. Both work, just its uneven. Is that a problem????

Re: Dual Exhaust: Uneven Flow

not a prob.

if it worries you enough

just put an X pipe in there, that will even it out some, and prevent the popping that is associated with revving up a loud motor

Re: Dual Exhaust: Uneven Flow

I put a 3 inch x-pipe kit from Jegs in my truck. Made a big difference on the sound, mellowed it out a lot. Has a nice tone driving down the road. As said before, it isnt a problem to have that difference, just depends on how picky you are about the exhaust.

Not a problem. That is showing your heat riser on the right side manifold is working properly and the heat crossover in the intake is clear. It is disigned to work just like that.

Re: Dual Exhaust: Uneven Flow

You have headers...are all of your wires in good shape? Does it have a miss? When it's cold and you hold your fingers over the outlets does it blow out steadily or are your fingers ever pulled in while running?
