More '62 Front Suspension Questions

How do you separate the ball joints on the control arms? Tie Bar Rod (big fork) size 21/32 is too small for the upper arm, and the lower arm is even bigger.

Good for you and thanks for sharing, it may help the next guy. I had nothing to offer as I never tried to pull mine apart. I yanked the whole thing out as one piece when swapping to a 75 disc brake suspension.

Re: More '62 Front Suspension Questions

Used a 15/16ths for the top and a 1-?/? For the lower, out of the kit linked earlier.

Been looking at replacement stuff, I understand ball joints should be replaced, what about the cross shafts?

Ball joints, cross shafts from cpp is 400 dollars total for all four. Then disc brakes for another 500, this sound about typical?

Re: More '62 Front Suspension Questions

Possibly I can get by with just the bushings or how necessary is it to replace the "Control Arm Shaft"/Cross Shaft/ Whatever else its called? Seems like a solid bar and the bushings are the main thing that need replaced?
