Disc brakes on 3/4 ton flatbed, or stick with Drums?

I have a 74 k20 with a flatbed and have been thinking about disc brakes.
My flatbed probably weighs 900-1000lbs by itself and im wondering if the disc brakes will hold up stopping on a regular basis? Especially if its loaded.
Also, if I was to go disc in the rear, would I have to changed my master or get a bigger booster?
Any feedback would be great!

Rear disc brakes would require a different proportioning valve mad for 4-wheel disc brakes.
