Pic Request...4x4 engine x-member
My 63 chevy needs a crossmember for under the engine...converting 2wd to 4wd. I think I might have one buried in the bed of the truck, but I'm not sure. Can someone post a pic of it and how it mounts in the frame? Thanks!!!

Re: Pic Request...4x4 engine x-member
63-66 just took frame perches off each side of the frame like this. the extra little bracket is for a 292
By rondavid at 2007-07-09 My brackets were removed 30 years ago for a Detroit installation and the 283 brackets are hard to find so I went with a cross member out of a 67 which is a necessity there esp. if you do not have the cross member running under the bell housing--remover for an a/trans. this is the one out of a 67 installed in a 64 By rondavid at 2009-03-04 a fellow that I know that is converting a 65 panel over to 4 x 4 used the c/member out of an 80's 4 x 4 ron |

Awesome!!!!!! Thanks, those pics help a lot. I think I have a 67-72 crossmember in the bed of the truck, and I have one from an 86 Burb. Thanks again.

Re: Pic Request...4x4 engine x-member
The '67-'72 motor mount crossmember will fit with just drilling the holes. The '73-'87 K series or the '88-'91 V series crossmember will require some modification as the later model frames are taller.

Re: Pic Request...4x4 engine x-member
If you don't mind going aftermarket, there is always this, which upgrades you to poly bushings for the motor mounts as well.....
http://diy4x.com/cart/index.php?rout...&product_id=80 Even though it says it's for a 67-72 truck, it should work in a 60-66 since the frames are pretty much identical sans the frame horns where the bumper mounts. DIY4X makes excellent stuff, have bought a few things from them and have nothing but good things to say. I personally do not have that engine crossmember (I made my own) but I think it's about the best way to go as far as bolt on stuff goes.
