Help id some spots on a 1991 350 engine
Hi Guys,
I need some more help. I didn't take this engine apart and my manual is lacking a little. I have a port on each side of the engine that I would like to check out what they are for sure. A small one on the drivers side which I think was just plugged and one one the passenger side that I am not sure what it is. What do you think? |

If memory serves, drivers side is a plug that goes into the coolant passage but was also used for Knock sensor in later years, put in a plug, or drain cock to allow full draining of cooling system. Passenger side is coolant passage also, usually has pipe plug in it.

yes, what rooster said. except i will add the one in the cylinder head is usually for a coolant temp sensor, but on the driver side. pass side can be plugged. should be a standard pipe plug.

Thanks guys, the temp sensory on this engine is up on top right by the thermostat, so I will just plug them both and move on I appreciate it.

The temp sensor on the top by the thermostat, is for the ECU. The hole on the driver side head is for, a temp sensor for the gauge. The one on the passenger side gets plugged.

That's why I love this board, Thanks. I will check into a new switch and see if I can hook it up to the 63 gauge.
