Re: Emergency Brakes
I'm building a 57 3100 and the old brake handle was in the way so I removed it. I also need a solution to the e-brake.

Re: Emergency Brakes
I'm in the middle of installing a MII front suspension (TCI) in my '56 and as of yet don't know what I'm doing about an E-brake either.
I would like to keep the OEM brake lever under the dash, does anyone know of a cable arrangement that will replace the OEM bell crank and rod arrangement? justplain ray |

Re: Emergency Brakes
I'm going to used a late 90's Honda e-brake handle assembly. I'm running rear disc and a S10 bench so I have room beside the seat between the door and seat. I've seen several this way and it makes a nice set up.

Re: Emergency Brakes
Im having the same dilemma. I have a disc brake conversion on the rear and I dont have the little "arm" that activates the parking brake. This part is impossible to find without buying a while new caliper. If any one had this Id be glad to pay you for it.
![]() Then I started thinking of some type of Line Lock setup with a valve but that would keep the hydraulics pressured for an extended period of time. What do you think about that?

Re: Emergency Brakes
I am using a Lokar e-brake kit, mounted to the right of the Lokar shifter - it is a bit of a reach but works for me.
http://www.lokar.com/product-pgs/eme...handbrake.html in hindsight, this would probably be better for my truck - less of a reach - http://www.lokar.com/product-pgs/eme...handbrake.html Shifter - http://www.summitracing.com/parts/LO...FQFgTAodT1d-wA |

Re: Emergency Brakes
Here's how I did mine using the stock handle. I converted it using cables and parts from Control Cable company. www.controlcable.com They are great folks to work with. I only had to fab a "hat" to hold the cable end at the firewall and modify the original pull rod a little. I could have used the original cables that came with my twelve bolt rear but I decided to just replace everthing while I was doing it. You can call Control Cables and they will fax or mail you a form that you put your measurements on and send back. They will make the cables per your measurements and specifications. Total cost was almost $175 so you might do it cheaper with junkyard parts but I wanted all new stuff.
