floor swap
bear with me. its 10:00 p.m. and Ive been up since 2:00 a.m. has any body tried or posted a thread on swaping a cab onto a 73-87 floor pan? in my weary mind I'm invisioning a solution to swapping to a later model chassis. repairing floor rot and a slight body drop. is this the ultimate solution to a couple common problems ? or do I need to go to bed? I have every thing to do this except a 60-66 cab with rotten floor, but if I search high and low I might be able to locate one.

Re: floor swap
Anything can be done if you want to put the time and effort into it. But I have to ask, why is it you want to use a '73-'87 frame. It would be a whole lot easier to just transfer the suspension, steering and brakes to your existing frame. There is also the possible issue with titling and licensing your truck with a frame that has a different VIN than your cab.

Re: floor swap
Because the stuff is there. All already mounted to the frame solid floorpan and all. And 90% of these cabs need floors here. Im not concerned with frame numbers mostly because I just dont care. Trucks are put on aftermarket frames everyday or subframed. This state is supposed to verify frame and body numbers when a vehicle transfers in from out of state. Just ro verify its not built from stolen parts. Dont use stolen parts. I have all the titles. And I have never found a dmv employee that is actually motivated enough to fulfill those requirements.if its raining its a 30 second inspection. They have actually told me and my father in law both. If they can find one set of numberss on this old stuff thats still readable they are happy with that.
