big block headers with LS flange
I'm sure someone has done it already but I'm going to try it myself. I tried some block hugger headers and I was not satisfied with the fit, and I'm tring not to spend a ton of money. I've got lots of time so I picked up a set of 1 7/8 big block headers and I'm going to cut them up and put the LS flanges on. If anyone has any pointers of threads for me to reference I'd love the help
Thanks |

Re: big block headers with LS flange
Check out LS1tech. I've seen a few sets done over there. You will need to tweak a few primaries, as the exhaust port spacing is different between the two engine families. What headers are you using? I've thought about doing this with a set of 67-72 Chevelle big block headers (known to fit our trucks well), which can be had for $150 or so, then flanges for another $80. Add a little time and you have a nice set of big tube headers on the cheap. F*rd Mustang headers have nearly identical port spacing, and can be had cheap, but I'm unsure how they would otherwise fit the truck...
Good luck, and post some pics when you get started

Re: big block headers with LS flange
I'm starting with cheap Flo Tech headers $135.00 They fit really well since they are for the K5. Im taking the gasket to a shop that has a waterjet machine to get the flanges made locally. It should be fun

Re: big block headers with LS flange
Actually SBF headers are the exact same spacing. Problem is finding SBF headers that fit our trucks.

Re: big block headers with LS flange
79-93 5.0 headers LOOK like they would fit well, but you never know 'til you mock them up...
