fuel coming out of filler tube whentaking turns

I just filled up and when I left the gas station making a left turn onto the road I got the smell as if someone dumped a can of gas inside the burb
then I made a right turn into my neighborhood and when I got home I had
big wet spot where fuel came out of the gas cap. This has never happened before and with the cost of fuel now I just dont want it pouring out on the street as I am making turns and just wondering if something might be wrong with the vent tube, all the vent tubes under the burb look fine

Sorry if this is long winded just trying to figure it out
Any input would be great to help resolve this issue

Thanks
Dave

Re: fuel coming out of filler tube whentaking turns

replace your cap it has a gasket on the back that wears out over time also check how much play it has on the filler neck may also need a little adjustment there. if you still have a leak after that you will need to drop the tank to replace the small rubber vent hose that is probably original. Had the same problem on my 66 leaked when I would fill it up. replaced the hose and it solved the problem

Same thing happened to me also. Just put a new cap on and all was good.

well bought a new cap and put it on and this is still is happening

I guess I have to drop the tank and replace the vent hoses.
Is it possible they collapsed not allowing the tank to be properly vented ?

Sorry for ranting this is just driving me crazy that all of a sudden this starts happening and cant figure why

To all : I appreciate all the suggestions that are given to help me figure
why this is happening
