Re: Can you take a look at these pics and tell me whats missing or wrong?
You just need a hot wire that is switched on when the key is on.
The positive voltage heats up the coil under that cover and opens the choke. You are going to need to adjust the choke after you get it wired. Posted via Mobile Device

Also looks like the choke pull off is missing on the pass. side of the carb (2 holes on the side of the carb by the p/s side mounting bolt) and the open port on the front is the vent for the float bowl. Should have a hose that goes to the canister.

Should the choke flap be open like that even do its off?
i would think it would be close so no contaminants can get in |

Should be open for normal driving and closed for cold starting. Not sure if you guys in texas even need a choke? lol

Re: Can you take a look at these pics and tell me whats missing or wrong?
Float bowl is integral part of the carburetor. Dont worry about that. You just need to run a hose from that open port to the vapor canister that should be mounted behind the drivers side headlight under the hood. The choke pull off should be easy to purchase from a local auto parts store. What it does is slightly opens the choke when you first start the engine so as to allow air into the carb. The choke coil heats up (once your run a keyed hot wire to it) and slowly opens the choke. When the behicle is warmed up, the choke will be open all the way....

Are you sure this isn't an April fools joke, if not then find a smart friend to help you and put him to work wiring the choke with a keyed pos.power sorce and check choke adjustment after that and move that fire hazard of a fuel line over the hot exhaust, rubber lines burn and then the truck.

Throttle return spring runs parallel to the throttle cable (under).
Connects on the bottom of the throttle arm, runs back to the mount the throttle cable is on.

does that work with the universal style throttle brackets like what he has on there? i've found that alot of times the springs are too long for that.

Re: Can you take a look at these pics and tell me whats missing or wrong?
do you smog it?
check a few things where does the vac advance for the distributer go if your air filter breather housing has hoses parts on it,prob easier to remove it all use your finger carefully cover any holes it the carb start with the big ones, they sell caps to plug them but short bits of hose will work temp with bolts in the hose bits

Re: Can you take a look at these pics and tell me whats missing or wrong?
I'm sorry to thread jack. But I'm new to all of this. And i keep paying a 20 here and there to shops that say they will adjust my carb properly.
but i just read that it is supposed to be opened during driving. here is my issue. i always have to adjust it, because if it opens all the way the truck stall bad after a completes stop. Sometimes even turning off and not getting anywhere, So i have to have it mildly open instead of wide open... is that normal or can you fellas drive your vehicles with a wide open choke? any input is greatly appreciated.

Re: Can you take a look at these pics and tell me whats missing or wrong?
hopefully this helps. my microsoft paint skills suck.
top right image shows the vacuum canister behind the driverside headlight. the arrow is pointing to the port that you need to hook the "floatbowl vent" too. second image down on the left shows the correct style choke housing(circled to the left side of image). notice there isn't a vacuum port on it. the capped off port circled to the right of the image is the "floatbowl vent" you are missing the metal nipple there. the second image down on the right is showing that you do have a choke pull off (circled part)that should be hooked to a small vacuum port at the bottom back side of the carb.(not the threaded hole thats for the brake booster). the vacuum line in red needs to be eliminated. cap off the port on the passenger side and hook your distributor vacuum advance to the port on the driverside. the bottom image shows you where your distributor vacuum advance is(circled to the left of image). the vacuum line in red i am guessing goes to the heater box. if so unhook it from the front of the carb. and cap that port off. that line should hook to the intake vacuum port shown in the top left image(lower circled port just behind the carb.)
