Help!need parts, opinions for my new to me 69at burb.
I finally found myself and my son a suburban, it is a 69 with a 350/350 2wd blue with blue interior. I'm wanting to try to start it but I'm missing the throttle linkage from the pedal to the carburetor and the gas tank has holes in it so I will need one of those soon.As of now I have the fuel line in a gallon gas can so that can work temporarily. I will post pics of her later, but for now I would like to get your opinions on dropping the suspension, brakes, converting the rear axle to 5 lug. Im not sure if I want to use air ride or static drop and which brands are better than others.I to plan on keeping the patina everywhere I can but some of the rust will have to be repaired in the rockers, cowl, door bottoms, fenderwells, and radiator support. Thanks in advance and my name is Scott

Scott, Welcome to the best place on the net for learning about your 1969 Suburban!
I suggest looking in the parts for sale section for your linkage parts: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/forumdisplay.php?f=8 As for the gas tank, and interior parts there are a lot of great vendors on this board that can help you out! Post pictures of your new to you Suburban, we all love pictures here!

Scott, again welcome these guys here can tell just about anything about these rigs and, no offence to any one here, we are all pic whores so post as many as possible. as to suspension like vectorit said check out the parts page or there are websites like airbagit.com . as to static or bags imo it depends on what your looking for in ride quality, what the road are like, and what kind of obsticals you have to avoid along with budget. if the streets are smooth for the most part and there arent steep drivways to get into then a static drop would be fairly inexspensive and will provide a decent ride, but if its anything like the roads here in Il. bags may be the way to go. either way your rig will look good, cant wait to see your rig

Scott, I am over in Greeneville, TN. Good luck with your project. I just picked up a 69 Burb myself. I belief that the rod run in Piegeon Forge is the weekend after next (14th), you might be able to pick up some parts over there.
Good Luck! Bake

I say bag that thing on some 5 lugs! New drop spindles, 73+ rotors, calipers, and pads will take care of the brakes and 5 lug swap. There is plenty of board vendors for your sheetmetal. Ive personally used classic heartbeat and the rest off of the parts side of the forum.

Re: Help!need parts, opinions for my new to me 69at burb.
Ordered the Dropped spindles, Disc brakes, ridetech lower control arms, air ride,c-notch and 2" lowering blocks from way2low2 today. I picked up most of my patch panels and a few other things at the auto fair in Charlotte. I need to find 2 front 5 lug 15" wheels that will fit over the disc brakes and be able to use the factory type dog dish caps.

sunk99 ...
That looks solid to me. The rust on the rockers are normal and sometimes I think they left the factory with rusty rockers Keep us posted on your build progress

Scott, There has been alot of rally wheels on Craigslist lately. Look in Knoxville, Tricities or Asheville and you should be able to find what you need.
