Looking for help on power steering, disc brakes,3inch drop, On a budget though
Looking for help with power steering and possibly disks in the front. Anyone have an links or photos with part numbers? I need to know what it would cost as well. Also I was getting to suspension and thought about a small drop. Anyone know any kits? I would like a decent kit for the money. Not a lot of funds right now.

Go here:
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=450021 The 60-66 FAQ - Go to power steering / power brakes / lowering. Seriously, almost every question you have is likely answered, in detail, right here off this link. Since your handle says 65, I'm going to assume that's what you have. Google : Classic Parts, Peformance Online, LMC, Brothers truck parts, Truck and Car shop (just to name a few) all of these offer a 'kit' with everything you need to install power disc brakes, power steering as well as lowering. You mention being on a budget, and I feel you there, I have a '65 Chevy and what I plan is this: - I've got the spindles, rotors, calipers, steering box, complete steering linkage, master cylinder and power brake booster and upper and lower control arms (from a '83 C10 Chevy pick up) I plan on reconditioning these and installing them on my truck. I'll use new inner and outer tie rods, adjusting sleeves and ball joints. These will bolt right up to the matching spindles and control arms I'll be installing. For the steering box, you need an adapter (or you can make one) to bolt the newer steering box in place, and if you keep your stock steering column, you can buy an adapter where you cut your steering column shaft and install a sleeve that allows you to bolt it up to the newer steering box. You'll need brakes lines and a proportioning valve for discs as well. As for lowering, you can use drop coil springs in front and rear, or you can use drop spindles, or a combination of both. I plan on using drop springs front and rear when I do my power steering / brake conversion. The kits I've seen run from $400 and up. That doesn't include power steering or rear lowering springs. With ALL new parts in my donor parts, plus the cost of my donor parts, new lowering springs front and rear, and all the other odds and ends, I'm confident I can upgrade the brakes, steering, drop the suspension, install all new parts and do it for less than the cost of JUST a power brake kit. YMMV Hope this helps

Re: Looking for help on power steering, disc brakes,3inch drop, On a budget though
This topic has been covered very well with part numbers in other posts..I used them to help me along when I did my swap.
I went to the bone yard and found the parts I needed. I used a 83 chevy heavy 1/2 for the parts. I got PS box, upper lower Control arms, rotors calipers, and all linkage. I bought dropped spindles from CPP and springs, shocks for the lower kit. I am 4 inch drop in rear with springs, shocks and adjustable track bar. Front is shocks springs only.. I had to drill two holes for the drag link and buy the plate kit for the PS box. Bone yard price on the parts ( I bought a hydro boost as well) was under 300 for all the parts and about a half day of my time. CPP parts 6062 trac bar 49.00 Drop spindle cp7423 209.00-2.5 PS bracket ps301s 39.00 coils fr 6372 164.00 -1 coils re 6372 164.00 -4 One thing about CPP is with drop springs is if you dont like it they will swap out for what you want free of charge. Now some guys buy drop spindles and leave the springs stock , the look of a nicely dropped truck to me is priceless.

For the power steering all you need is a '68-'87 C10,20 or 30 power steering box, pump, pulleys, belts and hoses. The price on those depends on whether you can find good used parts in a wrecking yard, or if you have to buy new or rebuilt. Then you will need an adpater plate to mount the box to the frame. I sell those for $50.00 plus shipping
