54 custom rear fenders
I want to hear some y,alls thoughts on these rear fenders. I really like it; it cleans up the rear of the truck and flows nicely, but my dad thinks it looks like a car if you have another suggestion, I am open. Thanks guys.

Re: 54 custom rear fenders
I don't hate it (not as bad as guys who use modern S-10 beds on ADs) but I'm not really lovin' it either. Just my 2c

Re: 54 custom rear fenders
One of the biggest reasons I like this set up is how the bumper integrates into the rear of the truck. I have drawn up a few different ways to fab the bumper but nothing is really catching my eye the right way. If you have any ideas let me hear them.

Re: 54 custom rear fenders
I like it a lot but the sun viser, extended fenders and other custom work don't work with the donk wheels as far as I'm concerned. That makes the truck look like it's trying to be too many things at once.

Re: 54 custom rear fenders
I'm not into the other key features of the truck either, I just really like the rear fenders.

Re: 54 custom rear fenders
I think the addition of the rear tag bracket and the exhaust might actually help. I'm not a big fan of small tail lights. The rear of a custom truck is magnetic enough for those reckless individuals who often fail to have insurance.

Re: 54 custom rear fenders
Not a bad look, but why go to all that custom work and still use a chain with a bicycle inner tube over it to latch that tailgate?

Re: 54 custom rear fenders
It would be interesting if a photoshop artist could take the side shot and put extended fenders (fade away) on the front of the truck that tapered off to the back edge of the door.

Re: 54 custom rear fenders
I thought I had cut mine all up. I like how it flows the bodyline through the fender chevette. I was just digging around on Google images when I found this truck, a lot of the key touches done to the truck make it look like it would have a chain steering wheel on it. The rear fenders just seem to flow with the truck. Mr 48chev I saw a truck that had that done, I will dig around and see if I cant find that pic. It’s not a bad idea I just don’t know if I want to alter the looks to much just more subtle changes. More on just altering certain features to my liking like chopped and stretched but some times I get plasma cutter happy. Thanks for the input guys will see were it goes. This summer I should make some really good progress on the truck. I need to start a build thread but this semester of school has been rough calc 2 and chem. That’s what you get for thinking you didn’t need school when you were younger.

Re: 54 custom rear fenders
I have stretched the cab 6", chopped 2 3/4 and sectioned the front of the truck 2". Truck looks pretty cool. I am learning as i go on sheetmetal fab. Got a lot of good tools now. Just hope to perfect my abilitys.
