My 83' C-10

My situation with my truck is a little different then most.. My truck was my brother's truck, he passed away 7 months ago at the age of 31. He had a all-original 83' C-10 with the straight 6 and only aftermarket a/c. After He passed, his truck sat on the side of his house for 4 months til I decided to start daily driving it. I drove for a week or two and started to get horrible gas mileage. I was really considering selling it because I was getting 10mpg at the max. One weekend my Dad and I tinkered with it and found a few vacuum leaks at the carburetor. Now I am getting 13-14mpg and it's better. On the other hand, My Dad has a 67' C-10 that He did a frame-off years ago. That was the inspiration of my Brother buying this truck a few years ago. After some hard deep thought, I came to the conclusion I CANNOT sell this truck. After being in the Honda/Tuner scene for a few years, I think it's my turn to work on something older then me. It's awesome to just drive and mind your own business and get thumbs up from random motorist when they see a 20-something guy driving a 30-year old truck.

I know it needs a few things like glove compartment, saggy left suspension body work etc I plan on making this a very slow build for me. So here is my 83' C-10 that gets the daily grind 30-50miles a day!

Mods so far;
Aftermarket A/C
2.5" Straight-pipe with turbo thrush muffler
Bed Toolbox repainted black
Grant GT steering wheel
1 12" sub in a custom build box to sit flush behind the seat
1000 watt amp, 5 3/4's in door - Headunit in place of old a/m radio
Tinted turn signals and taillight

I also acquired some 2010 Jeep Wranger wheels and painted them black.. I haven't bought tires yet, but that is soon.

You wouldn't happen to know which rear diff gear you have? i would think that a 250 6 would get better than 10-14 mpg, but then again.....

I have tons of plans for it like anyone else, heh. Within the next year, I want to do the bodywork and respray with UPS brown, static 5-7" drop, better audio system .. little things here and there

there's no way there's enough airspace in that little box for a 12, but idk for sure. clean interior, i love the seat.
Yeah.. In the very near future, i am going to build my own custom box, because that box is way too small .

I don't know the gearing to be honest... I'd imagine it is stock gearing though.
