74 Chevy Old Blue
So I thought I'd post my truck here cuz it is a project. My goal for this old banger is to make it into a nice cruiser...nothing too fancy or over the top...just something kool to cruiser in but at the same time can haul or tow something if i need to.
So its a 74 longbed with 350/350 that i got for $400. Never owned a truck or a chevy before and i think this is a great start. The following pics are when i found it... |

Re: 74 Chevy Old Blue
yesterday i looked around and under my truck to see what needs to be done. it definitely has some surface rust on the which is an easy fix. needs rockers panels, floor pans, cab corner, hood, radiator panel, inner fenders and other little stuff. as for the box im leaning toward replacing it with a new one since it looks like this one needs alotta work and i dont like that wood floor.

Re: 74 Chevy Old Blue
its actually dont look all that bad...compared to other trucks ive seen...i dont know how long its gonna take me to get this truck where i want it since its a slow progress but im hopin for the best. my next goal right now is to lower it. im gonna for either a 3/5 or 4/6 drop. im eyeing that flip kit and drop springs from summit. also i want headers badly. im lookin for some chevelle headers since im droppin the truck. cant use full length and i heard the 3/4 length headers are better the shorties for power. so thats what im aiming for at the moment. im tryin to find a donor truck with a good clean rust free box. its not easy at all to find.
oh yeah..and i want a 700r4 trans...need that overdrive for the highway. |
