Brakes 72 booster, master set w/p valve

I got this from a board member here and just wondering if anyone else has this set?
The part number is mbmbprct6772.

I would like to look up the info on it and learn a little cause my knowledge of brakes is not very good...

The proportioning valve is a pv2c also...

Lost my pm's so I can't remember where this came from???

You can find this complete kit at www.performanceonline.com

the pic you posted looks like a dual diaphram unit (7 or 9 inch). Don't think that's what any of these trucks came with. My '72 has a single 11" Delco Morraine Booster very similar to the unit described below, although the m/c and prop valve are different here as well.

Our 1967-72 Chevy and GMC truck power brake booster kits will help your truck stop better than ever! These bolt on kits mount to the original master cylinder-power booster mounting studs found on the firewall, and use the factory pedal assembly. Exclusive bracket design is much stronger than OE brackets. Made of .188" thick 1018 mild steel minimizes flex in booster assembly and eliminates metal fatigue found on the OEM brackets.

Available in 2 or 4 wheel disc applications and drum brake applications.

Kit includes:
• 11" single diaphragm power booster
• POL improved mounting brackets
• Master cylinder
• Proportioning valve (disc applications only)
• Prop valve bracket
• Prop valve lines
• Mounting hardware
• Lifetime Warranty
• FREE Vacuum Hose

NOTE: Specify type of brakes when ordering.
Product fits: 1967, 68, 69, 70, 71 and 72 Chevrolet and GMC pickup trucks.

Re: Brakes 72 booster, master set w/p valve

Hmmm... The booster is the small 9 inch so now I wonder if this is the correct stuff or not. This is the type of thing in my build I was not looking forward to. What I have is not what you posted for sure. It fits the firewall and the brackets and everything line up but if the internals are wrong... Maybe I will give pol a call today.

I thought this stuff came from classic performace??? Not sure.

Re: Brakes 72 booster, master set w/p valve

I don't think your internals will be "wrong". As I understand it, these boosters all work the same way. The question for you will be do you want to stay with what you have and maybe have to work on some fitment issues? Your dual diaphram is deeper than a single but the bracket looks the same. So I think this will put your master cylinder farther forward. this may become an issue when trying to connect the brake lines that I think I see there. Those lines would go to the prop valve, and prop valve to m/c.

A kit like the one I posted solves all of these issues....or you could just look for another booster...POL sells those bythemselves too. YOu could also go with a rebuild by Cardone or something like that thru the major parts stores.

It all depends on what you want to do, spend, or hassle with.

Thanks for your input! I got it mounted up yesterday and I will be replacing the two lines to the master anyway. Looks like the lines from prop valve on my old unit will fit so I should be good. I see POL has some lines already done so I may go that route.

I'm in brakes 101 as of now... LOL

Good luck on your project. But if you're in Brake 101, I might only be in 102!
