Has anybody cut 2 coils off the front?
I am about to cut the front coils on the front of my 64 longbed in the morning and I see almost everyone who does that usually cuts 1.5 coils. That was the original plan, but Im so tempted to cut 2. I guess I can always go back and cut more. Just wondering if anyone has pics of a truck with 2 coils cut. Will I need to remove bump stops either way? Any info will help. Thanks.

How old and settled are your springs now?
You can start at 1 coil and cut more if needed- it's hard to put a coil back |

The reason I asked that was I checked and my springs had settled 2 inches. I think LMC has a chart that tells ya what the ride height should be with stock springs.

1.5 is recommended as the lowest you can go without beginning to degrade driveablility. any lower and the drive would be noticeably worse. I did 1.5 on mine and removal of the bump stop bracket was definitely necessary.

Re: Has anybody cut 2 coils off the front?
I'd recomend starting with 1 full coil first. Drive it a bit until it settles, and if still not low enough, try a bit more. I ussually heat a coil to drop it that bit more but not sure if you have a torch or not. 2 coils will give you no drivability, and 1.5 gives you a pretty rough ride.
