Lowering my 72 longbed

I have 2 1/2 inch droped spindels and 4 inch lower rear springs that I will install. Now on my oe springs in the back they set at about 10 inches and the new drop springs are the same hight. The question I have is will the new drop springs drop the 2 inches I need or should I go with a 6 inch drop spring. If everything is OK I can not wait to get started. I also plan on getting american tork thrust rims and I'm not sure what backsace to get. I have american soft 8 rims with 3 3/4 back space.

Re: Lowering my 72 longbed

Install the springs and find out.
If they aren't low enough, try the 6" drop version.

Re: Lowering my 72 longbed

I plan on doing that but the questions is I think the springs are heavy duty. If so I will go to the normal springs. Plan on doing it all next week and I will send pics, before and after.

Question Re: Lowering my 72 longbed

What kind of weight does the springs claim to have. How much will the spring collapse once on the truck?

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Lowering my 72 longbed

I ORDERED THEM FROM EARLY CLASSIC. NOW MY OE SPRINGS AS THE TRUCK SITS IS 10 INCHES. THE NEW SPRINGS WHICH ARE SUPPOSE TO BE 4 INCH DROP SIT 10 INCHES OUT OF THE TRUCK. PLUS THEY LOOK HEAVER THAN THE PICS OF OTHER SPRINGS FROM OTHER COMPANYS. I WILL PLAN ON INSTALING THEM TO SEE IF I DO GET A 2 INCH DROP. IF NOT, I WILL CHECK AROUND TO SEE WHAT I REALLY DO NEED.
