OT Does Chevrolet still sell a convertible?
I know this is way off topic but do Chevrolet still sell any kind of convertible? My wife and I are coming over to the US to do a bit of a road trip in September and have booked a rental convertible from Alamo. Their website says it will be a Camaro but I understand that Camaro's are no longer made and I know most big rental companies don't keep their cars for very long. If that's the case what are we likely to end up with?.....a Mustang? Anyone got any ideas what convertibles Alamo currently rents out (from LAX)?

I'm guessing here but I'd say that they might still have some Camaro convertables available. Mustang and Dodge Sebring convertables are a possible opition as well. A 6 speed Ram Air Trans Am convertable would be awesome to drive around in.

corvettes and I'm not sure if they still make the cavalier convertable. Hmm just checked the chevy site and they only show three convertibles, the tracker, corvette and the new ssr.
check it out: http://www.chevrolet.com/overview/ But like robert said they may still have the camaro's there.

but the price on a convertable T/A with the WS6 package is way expensive, like $135-$150 for a day. way overpriced.

Ah, but fun. And you doen't have to keep up with the payments and the insurance but for just the days you have it, then give it back.

true, but at a week's rental, you've got about $1000 into the car. i'd rather spend my money on other things besides a rental.

A corvette would be nice but at the price we're paying I doubt it...hey maybe we'll get upgraded! We've rented the convertible for the two weeks we're on the road and are swapping it for a compact for the third week when were staying in a rented house for a week near Palm Springs chilling around the pool.
Still, knowing my luck with holidays there'll probably be freak weather and it'll pour with rain the whole time so we'll have to have the top up. I must be one of the few people who've been to Ayers Rock in the middle of the desert in Australia and had it pour down on them...ah the luck of the Englishman abroad!
