I have $2000, looking for a complete airbag kit

I have a '65 C10, and have been looking for a complete airbag kit. I want to drop the truck to the ground. Welding, cutting, fabricating, tubbing is not a problem, just looking for a decent kit with all of the small parts. I've searched a few times, and can't really find what I'm looking for-
Want the truck to be able to drop to the frame
Complete kit with all of the fittings, bags, switches, etc.
Frame notch kit - weld in preferred
I have $2K, can someone point me in the right direction?

Re: I have $2000, looking for a complete airbag kit

I would look at thorbecke bros. for the c-notch, cups, metal components, airline, bags. However that said shop around on the forum vendors... there are a lot of good vendors that can get you good prices on this stuff as well. If your looking for a control system for it I would look at accuair ( a few vendors on here carry this as well) I would piece a kit together yourself as if you go to get a complete "kit" you will be well over your 2k limit.

Re: I have $2000, looking for a complete airbag kit

I can piece together a system for you and get you everything needed and am sure I can come in under the $2K price. Piecing everything together is your best bet, and you can get a well rounded air suspension system for $2K.

Give me a call or email and we can go over everything and put together a kit that works well for you. Might even be able to get in you under 2K! I just did a similar kit for 62 C10. Would be glad to help you out and go over everything with you.

They are still in the midst of financial reorganization. My understanding is they are only building parts once they have an order.

I agree that your best bet is to work with our Forum Vendors.

Re: I have $2000, looking for a complete airbag kit

If you end up ordering pieces from vendors individually.........I would call AccuAir directly. Its the best way to get a warranty.......as well as a good deal. I've installed quite a few of them and they work like they should, without issues, and make for a really clean install as well. Sure 8 valves could be cheaper......but add fittings, wiring, and the possibilty of future leaks.........and the AccuAir becomes a no-brainer in my opinion.

A personal friend of mine just got a smoking good deal from Sonny @ Newmatics in TX. I don't have any personal experiences with him......but I figured I would pass on the info.

He bought a full kit for a 64 coupe Deville

Mikey, I checked with Newmatics. Sunny made me a great deal for $1000.00. I received all parts within 2 days, packaged perfect, and the technical support is excellent! Thank you for the referral.

They grew up, got better jobs and now have a family that requires some of their time. Since they are making better money they can now afford quality aftermaket components rather than risk their families safety on cobbled together backyard budget builds.

Thats about it. And, with the rust repair, metalwork, bodywork, wiring, mechanics, disassembly and reassembly... I figured I'd take some of the guesswork out of the suspension. But then again, I'm not a "mini-trucker"... whatever that is. Just into old cars and trucks.

And Chris.......I wasn't referring to you buying instead of building. Your words in the first post lead me to believe you're gonna do your own fab work and just need the basics like bags/line/fittings/compressor/tank/etc.

My remark regarding the pre fab was in regards to "porter built"

Clearly you weren't looking for "a way to completely replace my front suspension" or you would have asked for that....

Have you had any luck finding parts? Once in a while I see deals on ebay for great quality bags

Re: I have $2000, looking for a complete airbag kit

done mini truck before with body drop and bags on 98 s-10 rode like crap 12 yrs ago. These pre fabbed kits have been tested and work.Poter built and others have alot in there R&D before they market the stuff. Saying owner of Hazel is not a true mini trucker? Hell he has got probably the cleanest set up out there for over all trucks out there. Might wanna do research before you start bashing to bad on pre fab kit from any vendors here.

Do some research? Hmmmmm. If I'm ever bored because I don't have 16 vehicles lined up for the garage..........maybe I will.

Or maybe not. It's been done. Pre fab is for the ordinary.

Re: I have $2000, looking for a complete airbag kit

I never said anything bad about any specific company, manufacturer or supplier.

Every single one of us is entitled to an opinion and mine would be that if you've got the cash to afford basic stuff then buy basic stuff. If you've got the cash to buy the best then buy the best. But if you have the desire/imagination/skills to own/drive/build something incredibly unique, functional, and well engineered.......then it would be terrible to not do so and just settle for stuff from a catalog.

I understand that people have busy lives and responsibilities...... I am not saying those people are in the wrong for buying pre fab. I only brought it up because it is quite possible that there are other options for a build waiting to be discovered.

Yes!!

I would rather build/make it myself than buy it. Cause I do not have the money to buy pre-made stuff and I like the pride knowing I made that.

Lets see your truck compared to say Hazel so that trucks ordinary? Guess that why he is on cover of 1 magazine and know he has had few other photo shoots for them. Also agree with n2trux completely! Not sure your starting off on a good foot here, just my .02
