SPID - Canadian C80 option?

My 69 C10 has a C80 option listed on the SPID (inside glovebox). It's faded so bad I can't read all of it. It reads FRONT DOOR OPERATED .... There is something else there. Anyone able to read theirs?

Appreciated,

Ron

Re: SPID - Canadian C80 option?

Ron, on this website it says dome lamp switch.
http://outintheshop.com/options.html

EDIT: just found another website that says.
C80 : SWITCH, JAMB, FPT DR
C81 : SWITCH, JAMB, RR DR

I am having outintheshop make me a new spid. The original has printed
FRT DOOR OPERATED but I can't make out the end.

You've got a unique one.
I checked out the SPID picture thread and all the C80 descriptions said DOME LAMP SWITCH.

I wonder if it's normal to have anomalies like this?

Yes, it is Ron. I learned quite a few years ago that when discussing these labels you can never use "they always" or "they never"

Re: SPID - Canadian C80 option?

Never seen this description before. Everything I have is "DOME LAMP SWITCH" for C80, we are hoping to see another label with the same description that we can actually read.

Re: SPID - Canadian C80 option?

Ron,
From what I can dig up in my stuff C80 DOME LAMP SWITCH seems to be it.

Worked on the picture posted and it looks like the only thing after "operated" is a rub/smudge. Here is what it looks like to me.
If you would like I will work another picture taken at high resolution and emailed to me. PM for address.

Also what assembly plant built your truck?

Truck was built in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada.
Probably is a smudge, the truck was used for a painting company I worked for before I bought it! And the doors do operate the dome light.

I wonder if it is FPT DOOR OPERATED

What would the FPT stand for?
Ron

Pretty sure its "FRT" for front.

So everyone that has a Oshawa assembled truck, especially a '69, please check your SPID. If you are not sure the plant code is 1.

VIN... CE349 1 100001 example number

Re: SPID - Canadian C80 option?

Went through my SPID picture collection. Seven from 1, Oshawa assembly plant. Only one, a '71, had C80 listed and it was "DOME LAMP SWITCH".

Re: SPID - Canadian C80 option?

Why isn't it available in a CST? Was it standard equipment?

C8C : PAINT SPECIAL, (BLACK)
C8K : PAINT SPECIAL, (MED GRAY MET )
C8T : PAINT SPECIAL, (DK MAPLE RED MET)
C90 : LAMP, INTR, FRT AND RR DRS, COURTESY
C91 : LAMP, INTR, ROOF, COURTESY
C93 : LAMP, OPERA

Yes, when an individual option was included or conflicted with a package it was listed as N/A with that package.

Funny, wonder if that was caught during finalization of the deal?
It was part of the Custom Deluxe Package thats why its not on the SPID.
