What headers to use?

I'm looking to get a det of headers for my 72 C10. I'd like to get a set of mid-length headers to keep as much ground clearence as I can. I'm not having any luck finding any listed for a 66-87 truck so, I'd like to know if anyone has tried a set of 88-95 headers on 66-87 truck?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/160749951469...84.m1438.l2649

It looks like to me that they would fit. Anyone have any ideas?

Re: What headers to use?

If you don't get a set of shorties I will guarantee you'll loose ground clearance no matter what brand/year you go with. I you are bagging then it's a concern. If you are not then just how low are you going? Mine will be 4.5/6 and I expect to use extreme caution with speed bumps and such. I have Hooker Super comps with a 1 7/8" tube. Even with the 1 5/8" tube I believe there would be issues. Shorties would be the way I would go if I changed. I had mine left over from a drag car I parted out so I just slammed them on. We'll see how it goes.

Re: What headers to use?

I've only started my truck just one time since I installed these headers, but so far I like them a lot & they sit within the frame rails.

If I were to go with headers I'd use the Clear Image too.

Re: What headers to use?

Just curious as to whether these would also fit with a little frame trim.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Header-GMC-T...d8e8a9&vxp=mtr

Stainless with the (better?) ball flange; and similar money.

These are manifold replacements; and made to bolt up to an existing Y-pipe.
But if you had the Y-pipe stubs and flanges???
Looks like 1 3/4" though, not 1 5/8".

Those type there require you to cut away and modify your engine stand towers. or maybe buy some different ones.

Re: What headers to use?

Okay, I see the number one and two cylinder tubes go under as opposed to over.
Is that what will interfere with the frame mount?

Re: What headers to use?

I forgot to say I have Trick Flow heads with angle plugs. That's what is making this harder to find a set of headers.

I have these on mine other then mine do not have the chrome, the only modifications I had to do was to the frame, slight trimming and they worked great.

Yes just had to trim the frame back a bit and all fit fine.
