Re: How bout some pic's on a Lokar shifter
This is a 12" I put on a TH350 in a '65. The bucket seats were mounted real low, but it worked great with the bench. it's mounted almost all the way back on the mounting bracket and was very comfortable.
Just a side note- I have recently been buying American shifters thru Amazon and saving about $50-60 over Lokar brand. The shifters are almost identical. very happy so far. |

Re: How bout some pic's on a Lokar shifter
You might want to take a look at post #36 on the following thread before making a decision:
http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/s...=627302&page=2 American Shifter started out with a pretty bad reputation but that seems to have changed significantly. They appear to have developed some features of both the Lokar and the Gennie, and are less expensive than either. BTW, when I had a TH350, I started out with a 23" Lokar Shifter. Over time I tired of both the rattle and the length. I swapped over to a 16" Gennie and found it a perfect fit for me.

[QUOTE=markeb01;5347033]You might want to take a look at post #36 on the following thread before making a decision:
http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/s...=627302&page=2 I jumped over and read that forum and it donned on me- why is that the people who buy the cheapest parts, gripe the most about the quality?? I didn't say the shifter I used was perfect, but I got what I expected and it's decent for what I wanted. I do not mind a little "adaptation" or "persuasion" during installation, if I buy a lesser priced part. |
