67 cab and bed on 78 frame???
I have a 67 and a 78. I was wondering if it would bolt right on the 78 frame? I start out just wanting power everything but then start to wonder if I could just swap it all. Any info would be greatly appreciate.

Re: 67 cab and bed on 78 frame???
Welcome to the forum ChopperCity256. The short answer is no, it will not just bolt on. The generation ran from 67-72 so your body is very compatible with a frame swap from any of those years. In 1973 there was a complete change in the floor pan to accommodate gas tanks under the bed among other updates that make it more than just a bolt on swap over.
The frame is close enough from the cab mounts forward that you can use the front crossmember from the 78 under you 68.

Cool thanks for the reply! So just the front cross member huh? What about the rear axles?

Re: 67 cab and bed on 78 frame???
It can be made to work, but again its not a bolt in affair. The 78 has leaf spring mounts with no provision for a panhard bar. Most (not all) 68's were equipped with coil springs and panhard bar. Is your truck leaf spring or trailing arm with coils? The 67-68 trucks had a 1.5" narrower rear axle compared to the 69 and later.

Re: 67 cab and bed on 78 frame???
Yes the 67way is coil spring. So pretty much o can take all the power steering, power brake stuff, cross member and everything up front and then buy and rear disc brake conversion for a 67? Sorry if I have a bunch of questions. Im just trying to see what all I can use off this truck.
