New Instrument Lens with green lettering?

Just received a new instrument lens from LMC and it is all green? Shouldn't the lettering be white? Called them and they acted like this was correct.

Thanks,

Re: New Instrument Lens with green lettering?

Spoke to customer service at Classic Industries and there's are green also?

Somebody who restores these clusters on a regular basis can you clue me in?

Is this just what you get in a cheapo reproduction part or am I using the wrong vendor's?

Thanks,

Re: New Instrument Lens with green lettering?

OK just confirmed with another vendor Truck Shop in Orange, CA. Same results green it is. 3 different vendors all have the same green lettering.

I just thought it was supposed to be white, duh...

Anyone else have some knowledge they want to share?

Thanks,

Re: New Instrument Lens with green lettering?

Every lens I've seen has been a light mint green. Not really noticeable on its own until compared to something with white lettering. Same for the shift indicator if that helps.

You are right about the other lens being green. I took a polished original and put it on the same white background and you could see the green tint. I guess the green fades with time because it is noticeably lighter than the new piece.

I guess this is how they are being reproduced. Mine when I hold it up against a white piece of paper is very green.

FYI, I am a little color blind so this doesn't help matters.

Thanks,
