well, it's not a 67 or 68 but it's only what they call a classic drop 2 1/2 and 4" with rally wheels

Re: my son (18) wants me to lower my truck ?

Snowball effect being what it is and teenagers being well teenagers I'd say this is the perfect opportunity to introduce a new project/driver. Look for something driveable and mod it as you go or a truck that needs replacment parts along the line of what you want to replace. From here, way over in California that truck looks too nice and well documented to ever be chopped.

It just might be cheaper to buy your son his own 67 C10

A 4/6 drop with the wheels and tires on it now would look pretty slick.

When lowered your truck did you use an adjustable panhard bar and shock relocators? How wide are your rims and what size tires are you running? Plus good looking truck you have there.

5/7 drop and that truck would look better than it does already. Suspension lowering is nothing that can't be changed back if you decide you do not like it.

Re: my son (18) wants me to lower my truck ?

I think the 67 is just too nice and original to do any modifing it. Yes, I realize that it could be put back to original, but how often does that happen?

If your son wants a lowered truck with a different set of tires and rims, I would think it is time for a different truck for him to "put his mark" on.

Good luck!

Keith

I agree with this. Yours is one of the trucks I admire the most... and the primary reason for that is because it's beautifully restored to stock config. It would look good lowered, but it looks better as it sits and to be honest your truck is more unique because of it.

Have your boy pick a truck to his liking and spend some time with him making it into what he wants it to be. The memories of him tweaking on his truck with his dad will stay with him his whole life, especially if he keeps the truck you both worked on.

Re: my son (18) wants me to lower my truck ?

IMO it would look killer with a 5/7 drop and everything else left alone, and if you don't like it I'll gladly take it off your hands.

Cosign. Definitely would not butcher it. I'd keep wheels/tires stock as well.

As much as I love your truck bone-stock because it is so perfect, I cant help but to say that I'd love to see it dropped with some wheels on it. Keep in mind, nothing that couldn't be reversed (no notches). I'm subscribing so I can see if you rock a new attitude this summer!

Your son should be driving and modifying his own truck Just my 2 cents. Nate

Did you just use drop spindles and drop springs?

Re: my son (18) wants me to lower my truck ?

I lowered mine 3.5 / 5 and it rides great. I saved all the springs to put it back, but it's not going back up as long as I own it.

On a slightly different note, I wouldn't let your son drive that as a DD. Buy him something you don't care too much about because if something bad happens you're going to be pissed off enough about the accident, much less the truck.
