Transmission X member move

With my new Torque Splitter that I'm installing, the cross member needs to be moved back 7-1/2". There are already holes that look like they may work, except it would move the x member 7-7/8 (thus moving the engine back even further). I need opinions of whether this 3/8" will really mess me up, or should I just weld the existing holes up and move it exactly the 7-1/2 keeping the motor in the exact spot?

TIA
Mike

Re: Transmission X member move

Just a thought here. The AA Ranger Splitter goes between the engine bellhousing and the transmission. So moving the cross member won't affect engine location. If you are going to move the crossmember back it needs to be the amount of the splitter. Don't see how you would move it back more without relocating the front mounts. That said however there is also the possibility of moving the trans. back and the engine forward. On 4x4 applications the engine is mounted about 2" aft of the 4x2 location. Is there any fit advantage moving the trans & t-case back 5.5" and the engine forward 2.0" ? I'm thinking if nothing else this may ease shifter issues.

Re: Transmission X member move

My plan was to move it back exactly the 7-1/2 inches of the splitter, but I wasn't sure if I could move it back an additional 3/8" and take up the slack in the motor mounts, or if that would just cause me more issues.
