Steering Column Question
Hey everyone, my first chevy, but just the way I would have ordered it new. Anyway, I have an odd problem. It seems as if my steering shaft is grinding the column as I turn the wheel. It also disengages my turn signal too early if I start turning the wheel left or right. The steering shaft isn't parallel with the column either, it wants to pull upward. Is it suppose to be this way?? Missing a bearing somewhere perhaps?

Re: Steering Column Question
Welcome to the 67-72 Chevy Truck board from West Michigan!
Look at the column close to the outside firewall to see if there is a spring in place on the shaft itself. Here is a picture of the setup. Jim

Re: Steering Column Question
heya from KS! nothing looks out of place, but it's a little different from yours. is the spring not seated correctly? there's an open spot on the column where the nuetral safety switch is usually mounted so i was thinking the column might not be original seeing that it's a 4 speed. would also explain the funny choice of interior color and missing glovebox sticker..
