someone, please help
I cannot get the distributor cap back on, its notched and everything. Springs are moving, but still will not go on right. Is this because I turned the damper pulley and turned it back?
Do I need to turn the rotor for it to fit. Many thanks for advice. 84 swb 305 4barrel Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: someone, please help
make sure all of the retainers are pointing out. then align the notch. it should go on. turning the the motor doesn't affect it. sometimes you have to put the cap on and twist it back and forth. what was the reason for pulling the cap?

make sure your rubber grommit for your wiring loom is set in its slot. also make sure tou are not getting a wire from anything else cought under the cap when you set it down. you should be able to just set it on the housing and turn the cap till it sets in the slot for the allignment tab

Cheap kragen caps are notirous fOr not having deep enough notches. Return it and order from summit or go to napa or smith auto DO NOT FORCE IT or else the rotor will contact the cap and break the enternals. Ive done it.
