82 column into a 77

will an 82 pickup column bolt into a 77 pickup directly and totally ?

I think that you should be able to put it in but you probably will have to get a adapter or change some wiring to get all the turnsignals and stuff to work from the steering column. dont quote me on it hopefully someone could chime in and add something.

Yes it should bolt up fine. Only thing is that the fire wall cover may be a bit different in mounting holes for rubber gasket cover but no big deal.

How about the turn signal arm with the light-dimmer switch, does a 82 have the same dimmer switch as a 77 ??

I thought it was 84 since that's when they moved the wiper controls from the dash front to the turn signal.
