Billet Specialties Vintec SL Dish pics please

Anyone running BS Vintec Dish wheels in the Soft Lip please post pics . I am looking for pics that show the dish they have and please include the backspacing and tire size specs. looking for pics both front and rear . Right now I think 20x8.5 and 20x10 with 5" backspace each is what it will take on one of our trucks to look right .
Thanks ,
Frank

Re: Billet Specialties Vintec SL Dish pics please

Frank,

It is on an older C10, but thought I would share anyways. These are pictures I found on this forum. Not sure who it belongs to, but they are very nice trucks. Might help give you an idea as they take similar backspacing depending on rear axle. The dish does eat up some wheel lip, but the dish has a nice look to it. The red truck has a 5.75" backspace on the front, and the teal one, 5.5" on the front.

On a 73-87 C10, I would run 10" on the rear with 5.5" and a 8.5" up front with 5.25". Hope these pictures help some.

We are a direct authorized dealer for Billet Specialties, so let me know if I can help you out with a set. We just ended a 10% off deal last month, but send me a PM and I will get you some good pricing... no worries.

Those are super nice trucks. I looked through Lucy's build thread but didn't find the specs on the rear wheels. I may have missed it. Neat thing is that I think both of those are 6 cylinders. Just supr nice trucks with the dish I am looking for on the rear. I think I will go look through the build threads again on both of those.
Thanks,
Frank

Hello.......Im a interested in a set of the SLD 89 for my 72. Im unsure to go with either the 18 or 20 up front, but defin 20 on the rear. can you price them both ways? 18x8.5, 20x10, and 20x8.5, 20x10. Also, how was the red truck lowered? Whats your recomm on offset? Im seeing 5, 5.25,5.5 of front and rear.

Most likely, they have about a 5.5" backspace on the rear. I believe the earlier one is using a later model rear end, and those truck with the later rear ends, use a 5.5" backspace. Your wheels would be very similar.

The teal '69 swb truck belongs to 72BlckButy.

It has the narrower 67-69 rearend.
20x8.5 (5.5" BS) and 20x 10 (4.75" BS).

Re: Billet Specialties Vintec SL Dish pics please

Looking throught the threads I found that the Keiths Red truck is running a 4.75 bs and Nates green truck is running a 4.5 bs. I think I may order the 4.5 bs and find a 67-69 rear axle to build. My Intros had 5.25 bs on the 10's and fit great but the Vintecs dont allow as much lip so I think the extra lip is needed for the look I want. I was mainly curious if anyone had pics of a 20x10 with 5 or 5.25 backspace .
Thanks ,
Frank

Thanks Nate.
Any chance you could take a pic of your wheels showing them at an angle. I would like to see the depth of the lips front and rear.

Here you go Frank... let me know if you need any other pictures. In case you haven't seen Vintecs up close, the spokes curve to the outside unlike TTii's and Coy's which makes the lip appear to be less than TTii's and Coy's.

Re: Billet Specialties Vintec SL Dish pics please

Thanks for the pics Nate . That helps . I definitely want vintners with the soft lip and the dish. I just have to decide if I want to build a rear axle and run a deep lip or buy wheels that will fit what I have.

For me... I wouldn't build a truck that I wouldn't be happy with once I was finished. A rearend is (generally) cheaper than a set of wheels, and wheels can make or break a look.

My $.02... change the rear.

I think that I am going to try to find a 67-69 12 bolt housing. That would make a 4.5 backspace a perfect fit on the rear. maybe even a 4.25 bs.
Thanks,
Frank

Thats a lot cheaper than having one narrowed. Thats what I am planning for my 77 "if" I ever get back on it.

You can still get a pretty good lip even with a 5.5" backspace on a 10" wheel, but I agree, a 4.75" would be even better!

I agree with Nate, if funds allow, then changing the rear end is a must. Color, stance and wheels are the 3 most important things, in my opinion.
