Did I screw up already?
So I'm planning out the fuel system for my 78 c10, and I'm thinking I may have already screwed up.
I have an '04 lq4 with the electric throttle body, which i want to swap out for a cable driven one. So I picked up a 99-02 ecm and ordered a harness for that computer... Didn't the 99-02 have a return style fuel system and the 03+ have a returnless style? Am I going to have to swap out fuel rails too?! Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Did I screw up already?
Mine's an 03 from a van and had DBW and return rails...but there are people who will tell you that they never came that way....which mine did.

Re: Did I screw up already?
Mines gonna end up the opposite. Throttle cable with returnless, if that's possible...

Re: Did I screw up already?
It will work, but the tune is different between returnless and return fuel rails. It's probably splitting hairs though... you most likely would never know the difference. But if you have someone who is good with tuning it can be changed in the tune. F-bodys were all DBC with returnless rail.

That's good news! Thank you. So, I've been trying to piece this thing together. Would anybody look through it and let me know if you see any issues? I have a few questions, I'm going to use steel braided hose: -I'm having a hard time figuring out how to plumb the filter. The item description doesn't tell me what's on the in side as far as size or fitting -And how do you attach the hose end fittings to the actual hose? |

Re: Did I screw up already?
Any info on what exactly needs to be changed in the tune? I've seen this referred to a few times, but never any specifics

Re: Did I screw up already?
I used the Summit powdercoated aluminum tank, and aluminum hard line for my fuel line feed and return. You can flare the aluminum tube easily to use a fuel filter with AN fittings.

Re: Did I screw up already?
Not sure about that. Mine is a 01 DBC 6.0. I ran a return, but I didn't use the vette filter regulator.
