6 lug wheel options?

looking for some options for the 6 lugs, don't necessarily want the blig blig. Like the traditional 5 spoke coy wheels. I see now some companies have the 6 lug 6 spoke traditional wheels, i have seen some 5 spoke 6 lug as well. Does anyone have these mounted on their trucks(photos)? Also as an option what effect does the spacers have on a truck that's lowered? Concerned about the rear fenders. i have a 66 c10.

Re: 6 lug wheel options?

CRGRS 66 is running spoke rims on his truck, you can go as wide as 8x15 with a four inch back space, without spacers, I`m running 8 x15 rims as well

I would also agree. Keep it the way it is. Why is it that we are never happy with what we have even if every one else loves it.

Throw some skinny whites on there. I love that look. I'm trying to gather up some factory steels to go for that look myself. Love the truck and I'm pretty sure that thing would look good no matter what you put under it. Prefect stance.

Keep on truckin.

Re: 6 lug wheel options?

Ok, if you MUST change, I'd switch to WHITE steelies...

JUST kidding. Understand the dilemma. If looking for a change of pace, then what about some good ol narrow front/slightly wider rear (15" dia still) torq thrusts? That's another look that will never go out of style.

Or perhaps same size as the torq thrusts - but old cragar s/s? (Not the new goofy ones, but the old 15"ers.)

Just some thoughts. Unless the truck is a slammed showpiece, the hoops just don't do much for me and the old timer mags always look good. But that's just me, I'm lost in the 60's... You could always go with Rallies - but I think if you're looking for a change, you're probably looking for a non-GM wheel(?)

Where did you buy those center caps, i have four wheels off of a K5 4x4 that didn't have center caps. And all i can find in catalogs are the 4x4 ones, or five lug caps like yours.

hey 66clow - i am a fan too. i liked your look the firstime i saw it here in another post.
grungywhite steelies are not a bad idea. the stock hubcaps really set the tone too.
whitewalls are not a bad idea too. paint em on see what they look like then go for the real thing if you want .
none of the above should cost too much.
maybe you like the rally look. but i dont think they look that great on 60-66.

big rims and fancy tires will cost - if you got the money- its what you want surf around till you find em.

my 2cents.
say what are your tire sizes and how did you get your stance ?
thanks
paul

Thanks for your $hange i appreciate it that's what the forum is all about.

235/60/15 frt 255/60/15 rear 3 5 springs frt rear 1 coil cut frt 2 in blocks rear bump stops cut, I'd like a little rake but afraid it will be too low in the front. I have a crazy high curb to get into my drive way now that scrapes sometimes, rides great!

wow- so you cut 1 coil from your 3" drop springs in front and then added 2" blocks to your 5" drop springs in the rear ? hhmmmm. so thats about 5 " total front and about 7" in rear. is that about right ? then cut some of the rear bumpstop.
did you do shock relocation ? i know you said the ride was pretty good.
are you running stock trackbar ?

i think your look is about optimum and still have a functional truck without breaking the bank. the tire size combo helps give a good impression also.

my look is going tobe similar..... dropspindle with stockspring 1 coil cut (about
4 1/2 - 5 " front drop) and bags without brackets in the rear.I cut about half of the bumpstop off. got 1 1/2" lowering blocks but havent put them on yet.
i made rear relocation shock brackets out of 2x2 square tube like shown elsewhere on the site. still a work in progress, still working on brakes. oh ... . just got a ece panhard with bracket.
finally i shut up now... but just want to mention my tire size. blackwall 235/75/15 with stock hubcaps on white steelies.
