78 squarebody 2wd made2drag

well i just got a pretty nice 78 blazer (jimmy high sierra actually) its a 2wd with a 350 and turbo 350 auto. runs and shifts like new. i plan on doing a static drop as low as possible. no floor cutting or bags just spindles, springs and flip. probably will buy some boss 338s in 20"s or some u2 55s in 22's. probably going to keep the green and if i change the front end to a 81 and up i'll just paint that part to match the rest of the blazer.

this will be an ultra slow build due to the gas money it takes to drive this thing 50 miles a day...hahaha

hey maxxxy, ive been following your build. love it! i wish i could put a vortec 350 in it. believe it or not my 4.3 vortec has more power than this old 350.

i think it'll be the fall before its slammed but ya never know.

Re: 78 squarebody 2wd made2drag

i still have my v6 springs from my tan truck and when i took them out i cut a full coil off them. im wondering if i threw them in my 350 blazer if i would see 3 or 4 inches of drop?
im going to do a little research today on that and may put those springs in this week, but i wont have much money to do anything else soon

cut 2 coils today. took about 4 hours to put a spring compressor on them and cut them and put the other wheels on. didnt even have to take ball joints or unbolt anything.

***************
please dont cut 2 coils if you're worried about negative camber or a perfect ride! My shocks don't bottom out and my tires don't rub. It rides ok, but probably would have been better to cut a coil and a half and put 2 inch spindles on it. Total drop= 8 inches (with smaller tires included)

tires on there now are 215/70/15's....close to the same size as boss 20's with 245/45/20's like my tan truck.

85 cluster
astro van steering wheel
steelies with nice thread for the rear. they are going to be a tad taller than the front, but if it looks bad, there are 2 more where i got these. hard to believe i found a set of 4 tires and wheels with good tires at the junkyard
