Factory step bumper color?
Anyone know of the correct gray/silver color that the steel step bumpers were? Preferably in a rattle can. Thanks for any help.
Joshua

Re: Factory step bumper color?
Most step bumpers I have seen were dealer adds. They were usually painted by the aftermarket co that made them,so your guess will probaby be as close as any.You might try an "Argent Silver" since it is a factory color on Rallye wheels.

Argent silver gets my vote. That's what my high school truck had. Cheers,Pat

Re: Factory step bumper color?
One of mine was white, to match the front bumper. Others have been silver, if the front was chrome.

Argent silver gets my vote too. When my bumper gets back from the sandblaster, that's what I'm putting on it. Bought it at Eastwoods.com in Pottstown Pa.

Re: Factory step bumper color?
I'd say rallye wheel paint is your best match. '72s had one tear only factory step bumpers you guys are generally overlooking. I think they're cool. Stamped steel in the exact style of the bumpers that followed through '87,only 4" tall as opposed to 8". They are dropped 4",so the bottom is where an 8" is. But,you get 4 more inches for your foot between the tailgate and bumper for when the gate is down. It also makes for a 4" lower "step".
