Hey guys...I bought an unfinished project and am in the process of finishing it. The truck is a 74 frame and a np203. I couldnt find a shifter or linkage so I bought one on ebay. Below is a pic of what Im starting with. what is the aluminum linkage, and do I use it? Thanks in advance for your help!!

Re: 203 help

203 t-case have a shifter box bolted on to the top of the t-case with a couple of bolts where it mates to the trans. From that box there should be 2 adjustable rods that go to the t-case and attach the the arm you show in your pic. There should be another arm bolted on the small threaded shaft shown in your pic. One of the arms is for in and out of lock and the other is for in and out of 4 wheel. You will need the complete shift box assy or make your self a 2 lever set up some how.

Re: 203 help

Thanks for the replies, and definitely the pics! I wasn't sure I was going to be able to use the aluminum piece on there, but it looks like I can! I've got a used shifter coming from eBay, so we'll see how it goes! Thanks again!
