1969 cst build questions.

Hello guys. I have always loved the 67-72 trucks. I found myself a 69 cst long bed about 4 years ago. It has a weak 350 in it. I have in the garage a 1968 l34 350hp 396. I was wanting to put that in the truck and I have been looking and the ls swaps sure have caught my eye. What does a conversion like this cost? Would I be better off installing the 396 or selling it to fund an ls conversion. I want to make the truck a nice cruiser not too much a daily driver. Thanks for the help. Robert

Re: 1969 cst build questions.

If your not looking for daily driver creature comforts, drop in the big block. It will be a fun hot rod, and look right. I drive a 71 Shortbed 4x4 everyday, that sports a 454 and have no complaints. It starts everytime, I have to babysit it for a few minutes to warm in up in the winter, but that's to be expected with a carb. Money wise you would be better off using the engine you have, I started pricing a LS swap when I wanted a new engine and decided to put another BBC in my truck and be done with it. That's my 2 cents, take it or leave it.
