What's in your neighbors back Yard?
This might be fun.
I went looking today just to see what was laying around town and what was in a couple of my neighbors back yards:

Re: What's in your neighbors back Yard?
My neighborhood is not old car friendly. I'm definitely the 'redneck' in the neighborhood with the old cars. In fact I am fairly confident I have the only 60-66 truck for a couple of miles, as I've never seen another one. Ever.

That liftedbluestepsideburbtruck is quite a mash up of ideas. If it works for the owner than its all good.

That one ton hasn't moved an inch in I don't know how many years. Next time I go downtown I will stop and ask if it might be for sale. Most of these pictured are trucks that the owners said to me ....."yeah I think i'm going to fix that up some day, I don't want to sell it" That blue lifted monster is my behind me neighbor. He is a cross country truck driver and has a few cars sittin out back. Haven't ever talked to him but I would love to get the hood off of it for mine.

This is just scratching the surface....I know of 6 or 7 more. I just hate door knocking and asking if something is for sale. But seriously you guys should come up and see what you can scrounge up. Bring a 61 bubble hood with you when you come.

Re: What's in your neighbors back Yard?
the only thing in my neighbors yard...is usually my neighbor. Which explains why he gets pissy about all of the sparks and dust I tend to throw.

Re: What's in your neighbors back Yard?
Talked to the owner of the Orange and the Powder Blue trucks today. 2nd picture, top row.
Nice guy, very easy going. Neither truck is for sale BUT he has a shed full of 60's parts and he has stuff laying all over the yard and some of it is for sale. The Orange truck had a V8 and factory power steering and Air Conditioning and he know that it is a RARE truck to have. The powder blue one sitting next to it is a 1 ton that he is turning into a work truck "someday" I bougt the heater controls, a set of window cranks and all the innards and a complete heater assembly from him for $50.

Re: What's in your neighbors back Yard?
Stopped in and talked to one of the guys that helped build this beast.
Since it doesn't belong to him actually, he said I needed to ask the guy that owns it if I could take some detailed pics of it. And he is a truck driver. Anyway it is built on a 6x6 military rig frame and has a "Hurricane" engine with a 10 speed trans behind it. He says it will burn any kind of fuel you put in it. It was a 60 Suburban that had the middle cut out of it to shorten the cab and then it had the bed added on. The bed was cut length ways and widened to fit the frame. Motor isn't full of horsepower, only about 126 hp at 2500 rpm he said but it torques like a beast and it will move a mountain. The rear bumper is off of a Fire Truck and the one on the front holds a 2nd set of working headlights because the ones in the grill are too high and cant be aimed low enough to be legal. Pretty cool looking truck when you get a chance to look it over. You can stand inside the front fender well and work on the engine. To give you an idea how high it sits and I am 5'10. I tried to buy the hood off of it for my 1/2 ton but it was no deal.
