No more Edelbrock
So I am about ready to junk the Edelbrock Performer for a Holley. Will the Holley bolt up to the Performer manifold? And CFM size for a 283. Want it to be fuel friendly with some guts and not cost an arm and a leg, suggestions?

Re: No more Edelbrock
A 500 holley would be plenty for a 283. I would rather have a quadrajet than a holley-just my opinion I could be wrong!!!!! But a quad will get better milage as long as you keep your foot out of it.

had issues with holley but not edelbrok. Though as Indian113 said, 500 cfm is plenty for a 283.

Re: No more Edelbrock
something wrong with carb , dirt, gaskets , i installed a 600 edelbrock on sons 69 camaro cleaned it set floats 350 engine balanced and rebuilt vortec heads and intake slight rumpy cam , pulled tank and cleaned, 350 auto ,will burn tires from a rolling start all the way through ist and second gear, and he checks and tells me he gets 21 mpg on highway, i have had 4 of these carbs and none that i could not fix and get good mileage, left factory jets and rods in them, most common problem DIRT , need clean fuel and a good filter

Re: No more Edelbrock
I have had both, prefer edelbrock. Both Holleys had leaking issues.
