lt1 t56 in an 86... how to connect the factory clutch master to the t56 slave?
heres my dilema guys.... swapping in an lt1 t56... i have an 86 swb 2wd auto truck, ive already cut my low hump out and welded in provisions for the high hump, so i can a bolt on a high hump cover, heres where im at, i see the three dimples in the firewall for the factory clutch master, which i have, so i can install the factory clutch pedal set and hook it to the factory master all in the correct way, on the tranny side of things its an lt1 t56 and i have its factory clutch slave which has weird hose connections on it between the slave and master(they are banjo style fittings and seem to semi-permanently attached to eachother). my question is what do i use for a slave since i obviously cant just screw my factory line into the t56 slave will a factory sm465 hyd slave work on my t56 or can i actually mate these two pieces i have together? i searched the forum but came up with nothing and most results were on pre 73 trucks

80's ford vehicles have the same type flare as the camaro, with a straight section of metal line made into it. you could then cut and flare the ends, and use a brake line connector to make one line out of the two. or you can order fittings to fit the camaro slave. don't have any part #'s though.

How did this work out for you?
I'd like to add that the Camaro master and slave are sold as a pre-bled one piece setup. SO if you where to use the camaro slave by itself you would need to engineer a way to bleed it. I would try to use the truck slave cylinder, the bracket on the bellhousing should work. |

Re: lt1 t56 in an 86... how to connect the factory clutch master to the t56 slave?
I have all my parts compiled... adapter. Universal clutch hose kit got the slave from an 89 camaro. It has a bleeder screw and it exits at a 90 which is a plus. The factory camaro slave master combo is sold seperate or together. As fat as bleeding ill add pics later but I room 1 gallon weed sprayer added a pressure gauge will fill with fluid and I mated the hose to a clutch reservoir cap will pump and bleed. I made this for an Audi quattro I had it worked great. Also works for one person brake jobs! Once I get time to finish my pedal and steering column install ill finish the clutch master slave install and compile a parts list since I couldn't find one. There's lots of info o. T56 swap in older trucks but Not these. PS ill be using the factory truck master for ease of install.
