P/W door glass adjusment
I apologize if this has been covered, I did a search and came up with nothing.
Some wonderful person decided it would be great fun to smash out the drivers side door glass in my 87 short bed chevy. I went to a junkyard and got another glass and replaced it. However I'm having a problem with the window adjustment. They are power widows and when I roll the window up it seems to work fine, but when I go down with it the glass goes about 2/3rds of the way down and the front roller in the track comes out of the track and the window stops. I have tried adjusting the p/w motor but it still wont work. So my question is how can I adjust this? Do I need to do something with the big coil spring to get it to work? Any help is appreciated and thanks in advance. |

Re: P/W door glass adjusment
there really is no adjustment for the door glasses.there is a instalation hole in the window channel that is atatched to the glass on the bottom.if you reinstalled that you could have it on the glass in the wrong place.most of them are about an inch from the edge of the glass on both sides.

Re: P/W door glass adjusment
My drivers side glass used to pop out. My problem was the weatherstripping was messed up/ and missing partially inside the door. This caused the window to pop off the track. Mine however never had a problem with not rolling down. If you haven't already, it's worth check to make sure the window is riding in the weatherstripping the correct way.
